Plantsims were originally introduced into the game with a PlantSim Challenge and after this a lot of people thought that plantsims were no longer a part of The Sims 4. However, there are ways to become a plantsim in the game still!
Follow tutorial that littledoxy told you, but add that you need to reduce normal map force, create a new layer and fill with gray color, combine your normal map and gray layer. Obviously let normal map as upper layer. Then reduce layer opacity to 30% or 40%, for normal details. If you want higher details opacity upto 60%. The Sims 4 is once again courting (mild, predictable) controversy, this time because of the upcoming Star Wars(TM) Journey To Batuu game pack.The DLC itself doesn't arrive for another few days (coming to stores near you on Tuesday the 8th), but Simfluencers like Plumbella have posted preview impressions of it that aren't glowing. Become a PlantSim With Cheats
Most of the time we just want to take the easy way out when playing The Sims 4, and that's no different with plantsims. There is a way to cheat yourself into being a plantsim!
First, you must enable cheats by opening the cheat bar with ctrl + alt + c and using the testingcheats true cheat to turn on cheat codes. Then you can hit shift and then click on your sim and you'll have the option to Make Into PlantSim and your sim will instantly be turned into a plantsim.
You can also use thebuy debug cheat which is bb.showhiddenobjects to purchase yourself a Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim and when you eat this fruit your sim will become a plantsim.
Become a PlantSim Without Cheats
The first thing you must do if you want to get your sim to become a plantsim is get them to level 10 of the gardening skill. This is because you need to purchase the Rare seed packets which are only available if you have level 10.
You can do this through actually gardening or just cheat your way to the gardening skill by opening up the cheat box with ctrl + alt + C and typing in testingcheats true to make sure that your cheats are working, then type stats.set_skill_level major_gardening X and replace the X with the number 10.
You can purchase the rare seed packets either from ordering seed packets on the computer or you can find them in build mode. You may need to spend a lot of money to do this, because a rare seed packet costs § 1,000 and you may only get one magic bean each time.
You also need to purchase the Magic PlantSim Stump and when you have collected all 6 magic beans you put them into this stump. When you water the magic stump you'll see a tree grow and you can enter the tree and retrieve the Fruit of the Plantsim. Eating this fruit will turn your sim into a plantsim automatically.
If you want your sim to stay as a plantsim you're going to need to plant the Fruit of the PlantSim because the affects of the PlantSim wear off every 5 days.
PlantSims Needs
PlantSims have a lot of the same needs as regular sims, except for a few that are of note. Firstly, your sim will no longer need to use the bathroom as their bladder need will be replaced with water, this means that you can get your sim to drink water or take a shower to fill this need. Also, their hunger need will only be taken care of by being outside in the sun or 'absorbing solar energy' from plants.
Your plant sim is going to be happiest when they are outside and will receive a energized moodlet when spending time in the sun.
Plant Matter
If you have The Sims 4: Cool Kitchen Stuff, you can purchase an ice cream maker and this ice cream maker allows you to create plant matter. You must have at least cooking level 8 and it will cost you §47 in order to make it.
If your sim consumes the plant matter they will start to look like a plantsim but the change isn't permanent. They will also get a 4 hour long moodlet that will cause your sim to want to spend tons of time outside!
Reversing Your PlantSim
The simplest way to get your sim from plantsim to just a regular ol' sim is to just be patient and wait. The effects of becoming a plantsim will only last 5 days.
You also have the option to cheat yourself out of being a plantsim, however, you'll actually need to download a mod in order to do so. You can get the All Cheats Mod that lets you use cheats that aren't available in a normal game and use the sims.remove_all_buffs cheat in order to remove all moodlets.
